Well, first of all, Congratulations to Wills and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
I think it's fair to say, most of England and many other countries too, were keeping up-to-date with the royal baby news yesterday (22nd July 2013). So when it was eventually announced, last night, that 'Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm'. Now the rumours of who visits the couple and the new born as well as the mini Cambridge's name!
Also, I find it funny that on the official bulletin, the word 'son' was typed and yet the other details such as time and date were written... Does this mean that they knew it was to be a baby boy? Or simply, that they printed off two copies, one for each gender, to save time? However this leads me onto think that even if HRH wasn't well they'd still post "Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well." What if they weren't, they'd have wasted a bit of a tree then, wouldn't they?!
Still, I'm sure they are both well and I'm sure they didn't know what gender the baby was... Must have come as a bit of a shock as most people were sure it was a girl... I read an article a week or so ago, that said the Queen had set the new royal's official name as 'Princess of Cambridge'... No Princess/Prince, straight out Princess... Bit weird? Then the slip up from the Duke himself, suggesting to a child that his 'little girl' would play with the toy the child had given Wills... Reporters yesterday were suggesting that the name could be Alexandra, and no male names were discussed or even mentioned?
Still, as the Duchess let slip that she would prefer a boy at a St. Patrick's Parade in March, I'm sure she's over the moon, and I'm sure William'll be pleased too!
Now, for the press to give them some space me thinks!!
