1st December 2013: start of the christmas countdown?!

Monday marked a month I arrived in Kenya for a trip I still haven't fully recovered from, which seems weird to say. Still, seem to have had a more positive week, I haven't missed or walked out of any lessons, which is always a good start and I've managed to get lots done! Also, please check out the two links I put at the end! (Thanks, if you do!)

So, Monday I went last minute on a school trip to a talk thing to do with English Lit, we listened to people talking about oour exam, poems, texts, Shakespeare and Carol Ann Duffy talked a bit about her poetry, although it didn't apply to us much. It didn't seem that useful to be honest, but it was a day away from the sixth form block!
Tuesday was my full day (4/5 lessons), double Media, which was alright, got work done and didn't do anything too hard. I had a free so chilled in the common room, then I had English Lit, which was a bit annoying because we went over what we did well in an exam answer and what we should have done, well I had more for the latter! After lunch, I had English, which was alright, just going over stuff we need to get done for our coursework etc. Then I went home home and wrote up Music In Time's blog for the week.
Wednesday, went in for English Language, which was ok, went home and did a practice theory test, then went for a driving lesson, which went alright, went over bay parking and stuff. Went home, had lunch, sent some emails (which seems to happen everyday now!). I headed to pick Misty up from school and we walked home, playing i-spy, she won! Got home, got ready to do club, went and did club and then chilled.
Thursday, was another full on day, full of English Lit and English Lang, at lunch and during tutor a few of us got together and had a jam, we got ukes out, a guitar, voices warmed up and a vocal drum... It was good fun! After school, we got home, got people settled and I got ready to go out! I went with two friends and one of their Dads to an event that basically showed people in the music industry upcoming artists. It was a great night (I'll type up the review I did for my other blog and link it on FB) I've found a few more artists to listen to and feature on my other blog! :D (More about the music in music of the week section!)
Friday, I got up pretty late, cos I couldn't sleep and ended up catching up with I'm A Celeb and the cricket pretty early Friday morning... Still, went in for Media after sending some emails, did Media, recieved some emails, typed some more emails, chilled during lunch, playing piano in the common room and messing around! Another pointless tutor, I'm really wondering how compulsory they actually are! Went home, caught up with some people, went and did club and then went to Dads.
Saturday was a pretty chilled day, didn't get up until quite late, but think that was because I was still recovering from Thursday! Still, we watched TV and christmas films, went out for a hot chocolate and headed to Homebase and Pets at Home (to see the Degu's!) Then headed back to watch Saturday evening TV!
Sunday, got up slightly earlier, headed to a christmas markety, town thing, which was nice, there were alpacas and donkeys as well as some classic carol singing! Had lunch and then headed to make up some cupboards/draws and desks and stuff, which was a fun afternoon! Headed back to Mum's, chilled, caught up with Gran and the rest of the fam, had dinner and then started typing this up, whilst being distracted by really good music! (This is why I shouldn't listen to music when I'm working/writing!)

Music of the Week!

These are all (bar one) from artists I saw on Thursday, however I've missed two artists off because I felt one was too samey, and even though I enjoyed two songs he released, I didn't enjoy that many that he performed on the night and the other simply because I couldn't find the main song that I liked by him! They were Aiden Grimshaw and Nick Brewer, if you wanna check them out though!

First up is a song from an 18 year old that opened the evening, if you've heard Christina Grimmie (you'd understand that link) but if you haven't she's reminiscent of a young Avril Lavigne and Demi Lovato but acoustic?! She performed this cover and I thought it was pretty good!

Next is a song that I've had on repeat since I saw her, I've got her EP now and have that on repeat too! This such a chill track and represents her set really well, she fuses so many genres of music together to make such a unique sound.

Second to last, is a girl group that I described in my notes as a 'female vocal Rudimental', low and behold they did a Rudimental cover, that was insane! But, I thought I'd link an original song of theirs, I found it really hard to choose one, but went for this one I seriously suggest you check their channel out, they've got an EP out soon too, which I'm pretty sure'll be a good one! If you like songs with a beat etc. you'll love this, and all the sounds in the track are made by their voices etc.

This one is from someone I didn't see on Thursday, but it's an originaly by the amazing April Keen! I'm seriously excited for her future and the EP that she's just recorded! I think that's all I can say about this, enjoy!
