16th March 2013: STRIKE!
So today, I got up, researched ukelele's went into town, picked up some new shoes, few DVDs and revision books... bleurghh.
Then I went home, ordered a ukelele, at last!! It looked pretty nice, so you know what one of the photos within the next week is gonna be :')
Then I went bowling with a group of kids from club which was fun :) Then we went back to the church to help set up for quiz night tonight.
As it's Super Blog Saturday I was struggling for an idea, seeing as my main one I'm researching and taking my time on, so that's coming! This is gonna be a random thing on Comic Relief I guess, and sorry if it is shorter than maybe a Saturday blog should be, but I'm going out very soon.
So last night BBC broadcasted the 25th year of Comic Relief. It included lots of people doing different things for money, such as Jessie J shaving her head, Miranda organising a wedding, and many more...
Since Richard Curtis created Comic Relief in 1985, they have raised over £750 million and there has been 20 different red noses. They do a great job and everything, however, I struggle watching every year it airs, the same kind of stories spreaded within the comedy sketches and entertainment, there's always a lot about the kids in africa who die of malaria, and the people in the UK with addictions or young carers and stuff like that, and yeah, we need to know about that obviously, however it can be quite hard hitting at times, and yeah, we need that at times, but I find they go unneccesarily over the edge, maybe it's me being cold hearted?!
Still, I'd like to share a link for a children's home just outside Malindi, Kenya, and the church that I help out at on a Friday as a leader is closely linked to it, it would be great if you could check out their blog, find out more about the work they do: http://fojkenyablog.blogspot.co.uk/p/about-rainbow-house.html
Thank You
evan. :)
