31st March 2013: church, eggs and a roast.

Today I got up at around half 9 and went with family to the Easter service. Then went round my Gran and Papas house to have a roast which was pretty tasty as always :) me and mum then walked home and back again to pick up my uke and some other things and now we're watching that Andrew Lloyd Webber programme… 'a dog's a dog and a cat's a cat.' Erm ok?

Anyways that's it for today… and remember this is it for daily blogs for a while… go to my Facebook page for daily photos and updates on when i post blogs http://www.facebook.com/onedayatatimeevan

30th March 2013: let's go to the zoo.

So... We went to the zoo today... the song '64, 64, 64 zoo lane' keeps going round my head...

Saw some insane animals up close like the Snow Leopard, and actually got to see the Red Panda today... Instead of being lots of writing today, there's going to be photos :)

Meerkats

Kookaburra

Lizard

Snow Leopard

Also... As it's the last day of March tomorrow... I wanted to say... I'm not going to be doing a blog post every day... It has got too much, and with exams coming up I don't think it's right for me to spend anything from half an hour to an hour each night writing a blog... I will still be doing one every week though and if I do anything amazing then I'll post a blog about it... Best bet is to like my facebook page and get updates on that, and you will get to see my photos everyday there... This way I will have more time to take better photos, edit them if I feel neccesary and be able to have some time just to watch TV in the evening and chill because recently I have spent most of my time doing work and not having any time to relax meaning an increase in panic attacky things and lack of sleep. Which is never good. So tomorrow will be my last daily blog for a while... I'm hoping in the summer I'll have more time to spend more time on blogs and stuff :)

29th March 2013: films, freinds and parties.

So basically I had a busy afternoon yesterady, so this is a late blog post for yesterday... I got up late, as it was the first day of the holidays, then went and watched Oz The Great & Powerful, and it was insane! I'm a major Oz fan and with James Franco and Mila Kunis, is was alway set up to be great. I then went round my freinds house where we ate and watched TV and Due Date, which is a pretty funny film. Then I went from there to two of my friends joint 18th b'day party... which was gerat and I didn't drink so it was nice to enjoy the music and not end up laying in my own vomit, like one of the guys did :/
Still, it was a good afternoon, evening and night :)

28th March 2013: schools out for easter...

pretty chilled day. handed in my english coursework :D finished for two weeks now, which is nice, however that will be filled with more coursework and lots of revision...
didn't really do much today... went out for dinner and had a curry, which is todays photo of the day.. i'm not going to be doing that much in the holidays so i'll actually have time to go out taking photos and filming, and i'll be able to play the uke, so there might be a few collab backing music tracks...

i really am contemplating doing only a blog a week, but still posting the photos to my facebook page? especially seeing as i'm going on a weekend away in a few weeks, and kenya later this year... i don't know maybe it's laziness? i just feel not as many people are reading it, which is fine, because the content isn't great. sorry.
another old photo edited to go with it too.

27th March 2013: reports.

I'm sat typing the start of this in the common room at sixth form. My Psychology lesson has been cancelled because only 2 of us turned up, amongst the 11 others that were either ill, or part of the concert thing. I learnt two songs on my uke this morning, just need to engrave them in my brain for a few weeks time. Had a successful meeting last night sorting out a weekend away with some kids from the youth club, totally a room leader for it :) gonna be playing uke around the campfire :)
Still bored and should probably go and finish my coursework…

I went and wrote a detailed plan for my commentary... Which I have now finished!! Meaning I have now fully completed that section of coursework :D I only ended up having tutor and half an hour of sports leaders today, my report could have been better, but then I didn't think what my psychology teacher wrote was fair, but I'll get over it in about a year... I'm joking :) Still, I could have a very interesting few weeks ahead of me, including a tutor that is desperate on helping me at last! I spent my evening sleeping and finishing my coursework and eating.

Today's photo is of some bricks... I edited it with 'cross process' because I felt it brought out the different colours in the bricks :)

26th March 2013: epilepsy awareness day.

right now i'm surrounded by style models, text books and my coursework. i've got my headphones on listening to old Gabrielle Aplin covers. i'm drinking squash, thinking at last, i'm nearly finished.
today was a full day, four english lessons and psychology. i then came home and had pie and chips from the fish and chip shop, which was very nice :) i've been sat on the computer for the past 3 hours trying to finish my coursework :( i've completed 2 fully, and now i'm attempting to finish my third for tomorrow, i don't have much left, but eurgh, it's boring... then, my easter is going to be spent doing my last chunk of coursework....

today was purple day, to raise awareness of epilepsy, i wore purple socks and a purple polo, was gonna do my nails but i got impatient.

25th March 2013: are you joking?

So today, triangular flapjacks got banned at a school? are you joking? no.
Today, it snowed again, it's nearly April! are you joking? no.
Today, I got into my pyjama bottoms at 4.30... are you joking? no.
Tonight, I had horse emat for dinner. are you joking? probably not.
Tonight, I got heaps of coursework done and I'm now fully up to date :) are you joking? YES!

Not exaclty a successful day, I had English Lit, which I was half asleep in, double pschology, which wasn't too bad and then English Lang which was alright :/ I'm writing this kind of early to try and get my coursework done after :) so nearly finished! I'm now sat drinking a warm squash in my pj bottoms listening to Gabrielle Aplin, about to finish one piece of coursework, and get as far as I can with the other one :) I've now learnt Knockin' On Heavens Door (Avril Lavigne version) off by heart on the uke :)

good evening :)

Sunday 24 March 2013

24th March 2013: can the cold weather just leave?

I woke up, listened to One Direction, don't ask... Then chilled for a bit, went to town and a farmers market, and waitrose for another hot chocolate :D but all the time I was outside and even about 5 miutes after walking into a warm shop/car, I was freezing! I am looking forward to the summer. Then went back home and chilled, played uke for a bit, had toasted hot cross buns with cheese for lunch and then watched Ant and Dec, and I've done a bit of work this evening whilst listening to Gabrielle Aplin.
I'm not far off going to bed, and this is short, still considering whether or not to keep going on the whole blog entry a day :/

Saturday 23 March 2013

23rd March 2013: snow, sleet and rain.

Today I went to my dads, played my uke, did a bit of work, went to costa in waitrose for lunch and a hot chocolate and then did some other stuff but that was about it :) Doctor Who and The Voice are back on my TV in a week :)
And sorry that today's photo doesn't link to today's super blog but it was a photo I took today and edited and I liked it :)

The weather is horrible recently, it's supposed to be spring… yet, we've still had lots of rain and snow. I'm not sure it's been over 6 degrees in the past few weeks either. The amount of cups of tea and hot chocolates I've had recently and the amount of times I've come home and got under my duvet with trackies and a jumper on is a world record. I was born in a heatwave, the middle of Summer '96. Well, that's my excuse for constantly moaning about cold weather, even when I've got a standard pair of trousers on and about 4 layers on my top half I'll be freezing. Still, scientists and environmentalists will probably say it's all down to climate change and everything, which probably does have an effect but I don't know the ins and outs of it. However, I watched Tom Fletcher's latest YouTube video and he was persuading people to join in on Earth Hour, which I think is a great idea, if it was a clearer night it would have been even better because in the major cities there would be less light and city pollution meaning they'd be able to see the stars. However, with this stupid weather the sky is full of rain and snow filled clouds, meaning no clear sky :( it would have been great as people could have sat outside and actually escaped the world of technology and man made things and just look at history and natural beauty (I'm being cringey right now, but get over it). The amount of times, especially in the summer, I have just sat outside at about 9 and taken in the stars, the sound of distant traffic and foxes and owls calling, and the breeze. I saw DofE as the perfect opportunity to see the stars from a different angle, hear different night time sounds and see and smell different things. Just think about it, next time you find yourself lost with the world, go for a walk, take in the smells, the sounds, the sights. Or sit outside as the sun is setting and take in the colours. Or sit under a clear sky and etch the stars appear one by one and watch them twinkle whilst the nocturnal animals come to life.
Use nature in the right way, tonight between 8.30 and 9.30 turn off just your lights if you want, or go all out turn of your tv, radio, don't use your phones/iPods just for an hour. Take in the planet. The only one like it in our solar system. Use it wisely. Before it runs out and dies.

22nd March 2013: work, work, uke.

Today has been very tiring. I'm now sat at the computer listening to Gabrielle Aplin, drinking hot chocolate and thinking about what I've got to get done this weekend.
Now 20 minutes later I'm eating a magnum, still listening to Aplin though. Spent all day in sixth form today, even though I had two frees so I spent them trying to sort out my English coursework, I had PE today and two English Language lessons.
I also taught myself Knockin' On Heaven's Door on the ukelele tonight, which was easy but it's a nice one for me to now work on with my friend, for a future video? Still, I did that, then went to club and had a tea bag fight with one of the other leaders... Had a good time there, so yeah :)
I'm sorry, I was running short on time, and a lot of people that look at this blog proabbly realise that today's photo is an old one, however, I searched for about half hour for half a quote to go on it... so the first line is a quote I found and then I had the second line, but yeah there you go :)

21st March 2013: Aplinators.

So today's photo, is what I was on my way home from at midnight this morning... So it classes as sort of something I also did today ;) Quality isn't great, because I didn't take my camera, so I took it on my ipod but hey ho :)

Last night, I went to see Gabrielle Aplin headline at Koko, it was insane! Not only was she amazing and it was great to see her live after seeing her get bigger and bigger on YouTube and then the well known and very popular John Lewis advert for Christmas 2012 cover of Power of Love, but also her support acts were insane, both for different reasons.

Andreas Moe: http://www.youtube.com/user/DreasMoeMusic

Hannah Grace: http://www.youtube.com/user/HannahVeeBee/videos

Today I went in late, and felt so ill, so tired and eurgh yeah. I did my teaching assistant community enrichment stuff then I had PE and wasn't sure I was going to get through the lesson, but then when I did and made it to English Lit, it made me happier, still not feeling great mind you. So I got through that, got picked up, go home and fell asleep for 2 hours, I'm feeling a lot better now, and will attempt to actually sleep properly for the first time in a few days, going baby sitting now and aim to sort my english coursework out that is due to be finished and handed in next wednesday, which currently isn't going to happen.

20th March 2013: name the uke.

So today, my new friend came through the door... I had several names to call it, cos I'm cool like that, however, it looks more like a boy? A few suggested the name John... But I don't know? Hahah

Still, I had English Lit first, which wasn' particularly great, then English Lang, which wasn't much better, then I had two frees so went home, and was planning on sleeping and catching on a really bad night's sleep last night, but that didn't happen, so I just laid in bed for an hour, then I went back in for English Lit where we just wrote an exam answer, which I ran out of time on :/

Still, I'm now off to go and get ready and then go and see Gabrielle Aplin :D yayyy!!

byeeeee

Tuesday 19 March 2013

19th March 2013: fail.

So today has been a bit crazy. I went in after my free first, went to English Lit which was a cover lesson, then had PE where I did my EPIP, it didn't go too bad, but it didn't go brilliantly, oh well. Then I had Psychology, then I had another English Lit lesson, which was interesting.
Then I got the train home for the first time in like a year, and went round my friend's house and watched Arthur, which was an amazing film, then we had dinner with her family which was noice, then literally just jammed and chatted for like an hour and a half :)
So yeah, that's why this blog is so late, I'm sorry, literally got in like 10 minutes ago, and I'm sorry for lacking quality of photo :) In it is a healthy slice of chocolate cake and a magnum, my extra pudding :) hah

18th March 2013: 'we got lost in a room'

I'm really sorry for a really late post, had a challenging and tiring day.

Today pretty much summed up my idea of hell. Going into small rooms with lots of people and lots of people talking about universities and their future. I'd already sat through a PE lesson that I'd got in late for because of traffic, then I had a free which I'd spent doing EPIP notes for tomorrow, which I'm dreading... Then, sat through Psychology having a panic attack about the stupid UCAS convention thing, which I know is ridiculous, but the thought is terrifying me. Still, I then went to that, calmed down walked around with a variety of people, picked up 18 flipping prospectuses. Then, my PE class went back for a lesson, did presentation and then went through my EPIP notes, ready for tomorrow.

I then got picked up, went home, briefly looked at what Uni's I'd actually picked up booky stuff from, then went to Sainsbury's which turned out to be an eventful experience, saw my old Year 5 teacher, which was weird, then my sister had a bit of a funny few minutes, so that included her ending up on the floor, the aisle having people either really kindly asking if we needed any help, or the complete opposite, with people just staring at her, so instead of biting my tongue I walked up to one of these people and said something that involved the words zoo, staring and a sarcastic thanks on the end...They then said 'oh, has she got something wrong with her' so I went on to explain, but are some people seriously that dumb?! There's a kid lying on the floor, pale as anything, just staring into space, and you decided to say 'oh, is there something wrong with her' makes me angry.

Still, we got her in the car and Mum finished off the shopping and we came home, and I managed to get on with a bit of work, and then sorted out trains for Wednesday :D

I'm off to bed, so goodnight!

evan. :)

Sunday 17 March 2013

17th March 2013: St. Patricks Day.

So this is a rushed blog, I'm in the middle of doing PE work, due for tomorrow... This what happens when you do other things, to try and socialise... I was half way through falling asleep about 20 minutes ago... So I'm now drinking a cup of tea, which is quite nice.
I have literally done nothing today, well, I was in bed til about 11 this morning, then I got up, did some PE work, then watched some films with my sister, did some Psychology work, then nearly fell asleep, then that brings us to now...
Now I'm going to attempt the exam questions and powerpoint for PE tomorrow, whilst trying to ignore, certain people.
Wish me luck!
And Happy St. Patricks Day! :)

16th March 2013: STRIKE!

So today, I got up, researched ukelele's went into town, picked up some new shoes, few DVDs and revision books... bleurghh.
Then I went home, ordered a ukelele, at last!! It looked pretty nice, so you know what one of the photos within the next week is gonna be :')
Then I went bowling with a group of kids from club which was fun :) Then we went back to the church to help set up for quiz night tonight.

As it's Super Blog Saturday I was struggling for an idea, seeing as my main one I'm researching and taking my time on, so that's coming! This is gonna be a random thing on Comic Relief I guess, and sorry if it is shorter than maybe a Saturday blog should be, but I'm going out very soon.

So last night BBC broadcasted the 25th year of Comic Relief. It included lots of people doing different things for money, such as Jessie J shaving her head, Miranda organising a wedding, and many more...
Since Richard Curtis created Comic Relief in 1985, they have raised over £750 million and there has been 20 different red noses. They do a great job and everything, however, I struggle watching every year it airs, the same kind of stories spreaded within the comedy sketches and entertainment, there's always a lot about the kids in africa who die of malaria, and the people in the UK with addictions or young carers and stuff like that, and yeah, we need to know about that obviously, however it can be quite hard hitting at times, and yeah, we need that at times, but I find they go unneccesarily over the edge, maybe it's me being cold hearted?!
Still, I'd like to share a link for a children's home just outside Malindi, Kenya, and the church that I help out at on a Friday as a leader is closely linked to it, it would be great if you could check out their blog, find out more about the work they do: http://fojkenyablog.blogspot.co.uk/p/about-rainbow-house.html

Thank You

evan. :)

15th March 2013: red noses, pain and promo stuff.

Well, to start off with... My legs are so painful from yesterday!!! Got to take my sister to school, then went in for three lessons, Psychology, PE and English Lang, not very interesting.
I'm literally on my way out the door in half hour for the evening, to see my Green Team and then to go on and do some waitressing at an elderly people's place, so yeah...

Promo stuff seeing as it's Red Nose Day today...

Lauren Aquilina released a single and music video last night at midnight, which is insane!! You can watch amd download the single for however much you want to donate (all proceeds go directly to Comic Relief!) here: http://www.laurenaquilina.co.uk/wanderlust/

Also, I'm a bit of a Jessie J fan, and she's shaving her head tonight, so another way to raise money is to text 'DARE' to 70011 to sponsor her (£1 + std network rate.)
There you go...

Thursday 14 March 2013

14th March 2013: you just took competition to a whole new level.

Today was Winter House Sports... Tudor of course, didn't do too well... I only played in the football, cos I'm not allowed to play netball... That's a story for another time :)
Still our first game, we lost. 5-0. Our second game, we lost. 2-0. Our last game for 5th/6th place, we lost. On penalties, and it was my fault, I'd been in goal and had saved a fair amount, but missed a fair amount, I didn't wanna take the last shot that could choose our final place... I was having slight difficulty breathing, and my legs felt like they were going to give way... That's my excuses ok... Good!!

Anyway... I have some funny stories from today... First of all, we had to sign in this morning, so I was on my way to the Old Gym, and one of my PE teachers asked me to go to the PE office to get the house bibs, so she gave me her keys, and I didn't think anything of it, I went to get them and then went to sign in, thinking there was no rush... Obviously I was wrong, as when we came round the corner, I had to run the last bit, because there was a massive line of girls that had been waiting for about 15-20 minutes for me to get there with the keys...
Another one... I got made to referee half of the football matches... Which was an interesting few hours of my life... In one of the games, I had a fight on my hands, Hanover and Windsor started kicking off, and I had to send one of them off.
Not so funny, but I had a red glow to my face at the end (slight sun burn), a blister, a dodgy knee, a splitting headache, about 5 pretty bully looking bruises on my legs and incredibly sore muscles :(
Still, there we go! I also forgot to say yesterday that it was a week til I go see Gabrielle Aplin :)

So, I'm now off to have a hot chocolate and to listen to music and then stay up for Lauren Aquilina's release of Wanderlust... if you're interested, all money raised goes to Comic Relief, it's a new song and video... It's a download for as much as you want track, I think? Link to her website underneath, but it won't be released until 12 tonight... Also, help us trend it to get more people interested :) #Wanderlust

13th March 2013: hot chocolate, more first aid and music.

Sorry for the late post, I got home later than usual, was tired, and had work to do and decided to sort out my sister's mp3 for her.
So here I am sat with a hot chocolate, a biscuit and Taylor Ames and Lewis Mokler playing (yes, both new names...)
That's today's photo. It's my favouritee necklace, edited with black and white and then cross process. So there you go!
Gahh I just got tweeted by Lewis Mokler!! Sorry, slight distraction... Right anyways, today was pretty boring, I went in late because I had two frees, handed an exam answer in for English Lang, then I had Psychology, which for once wasn't too bad and I actually found it interesting, although we didn't seem to do that much work, could that be why?! Onto my dedicated EPQ lesson, which our new teacher forgot about so he told us just to get a plan to him by sometime... So, I took this time to be productive... I spent it in the library, sat on my own, with music on, doing some Psychology work and starting to finish off my commentary for English Lang coursework... Then, my friend came to the library and we started to mind map ideas for a new fundraising event... oh yes!!
After that, it was lunch, and I didn't really do much to be honest, then it was first aid time!! Which wasn't too bad, I'm supposedly first aid trained now, with a certificate on it's way... Then I went home and did all the stuff I said at the start of this blog... So there you go!

Another photo for you...

Which is my sketchbook, ipod and sister's headphones :)

Tuesday 12 March 2013

12th March 2013: it's got potential...

So this is what I've been up to for the past 4 hours...
Sorting through all of my work from September... I also managed to file it all, and then wrote an exam question and annotated a poem, hoping tomorrow I'll get some coursework done and sorted because I'm getting a bit fed up of it all now. The lack of help from certain teachers isn't very motivating either, I know that you're supposed to me self motivated and do a certain amount of work yourself, but when you ask for a little bit of help and don't get it, it can be quite frustrating. Today was my full day, four hours of English with a bit of psychology chucked in. English wasn't too bad to be fair, but I'm getting fed up of the comment 'it's got potential but it's not quite there...' You'll probably think surely that means you need to learn to go into more depth? Yeah, I do and you're right, but that's yet another thing that demotivates me... It's like saying the ingredients of a carrot, corned beef and tomato sauce have potential, but you're not the right chef to make it good...
Still moving on, I also am starting to doubt doing a blog every day, mainly because I tend to do the same sort of things each day, and it probably gets boring for you? I don't know? I'm starting to think I should do a blog a week, but still do a photo a day of course... I dunno let me know your thoughts and if you've got any suggestions post on my wall at: https://www.facebook.com/onedayatatimeevan

Anyway, an extra photo as a treat today... :)
evan. :)

Monday 11 March 2013

11th March 2013: why did the snow return?

Today I woke up and it was snowing. I got up and it was freezing! I walked outside to get in the car, and thought I'd quickly take my photo, so here it is:
Today was pretty boring, I started the day with English Lit, just going over poems, then I had a free and spent that in the common room listening to music and reading the poem I have to present. Then I had double psychology which is always fun when you're talking about personality types and nearly all of them seemed to have negative things ending in death. (It's honestly a really cheery subject...)
Then lunch, I went for a walk with my friend for her to get her lunch, and seriously wish I hadn't it was freezing and there was like a mini blizzard :/ Then when we got back we had assembly, which was exactly a joyful experience either, we got told we had 6 weeks til study leave... PANIC!
Then finished the day off with a relaxed English Lang lesson, although that involved us looking at an exam paper... I don't like it!! :(
Still, I came home, ate dinner, watched a bit of 127 hours, which is a bit of a weird concept but it's not bad, then I did some psychology work and an English exam question, then I waited for Lauren's announcement... Link below, but yeah, not much done other than that, and I'll probably carry on my wall or do some drawing/reading now :)

10th March 2013: Happy Mothers Day!

You were probably expecting a Mothers Day themed photo weren't you? Well... Plans were changed, and it turned into quite a lazy day... I got up at around 10, and I was the first one dressed... (not up, but dressed) and then went to cricket training where we didn't have a coach for half of it. Then I came home, fell asleep on my bed with my sister. Then I woke up and ate pizza, (we were going to cook for Mum, but seeing as it was a lazy day, they decided to get pizza whilst we were asleep) so yeah, we ate that, and then I did some work, played guitar, sorted my calendar out and that brings me to now, waiting for Bryce to upload her Rihanna cover, so here's the link to her YouTube for when she has... She's a fellow pop tart lover... http://www.youtube.com/user/brycyspicy/videos

Happy Mothers Day!

9th March 2013: 'Books! The best weapons in the world!'

I apologise in advance for the blurry photo today, it was taken on my phone, I now have a memory card reader, so I will be able to actually get photos from my camera onto the computer, a lot easier. Today I didn't do much, tidied my room, did some art for my sketchbook, and sorted some photos for my wall (which are now up). I then went out for a meal with some family which was pretty nice too. I've also been sulking at the fact I should be seeing Jessie J tonight, but she postponed her tour to October/November, when I'm due to be in Kenya...

So today's 'Super Blog Saturday' is about World Book Day... Which was on Thursday (7th March), last week... but also books in general.
In the photo above there's a selection of my favourite books from when I was younger ( I couldn't find 'The Story of Tracy Beaker' and The Dare Game was the closest I could get to it... So in this photo there is (left to right):
Looking For Button Moon...
The BFG - Roald Dahl
The Dare Game (but should have been The Story of Tracy Beaker) - Jacqueline Wilson
The Famous Five: Five on a Treasure Island - Enid Blyton
Danny the Champion of the World - Roald Dahl
Goodnight Mister Tom - Michelle Magorian
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (because that's the best) - J.K. Rowling

1 of those is from a TV programme, and all the rest were made into films, and some even becoming successful TV series'. It's nice for these books to have genuine illustrated pictures as their front covers (excluding Goodnight Mister Tom and Button Moon, but shush!) Nowadays, I walk into a bookshop and walk to the 'Teen' section and all I see is photos from films, and vampires and werewolves. Which leads me onto another thing, I don't particularly enjoy books like Twilight, all about vampires, werewolves and supernatural type of stuff. I'm sure you're all now thinking, 'but you like Harry Potter?' yes, I do, however, the Harry Potter books were released 16 years ago this year (UK) and I feel they were the start of something new, because they put a bigger twist on The Worst Witch books (1974) by adding in werewolves and ghosts and other awesome things. Then we had just under 10 years of Harry Potter hypes, or people in my generation did...
Then, in 2005, Twilight, brought to life from a nightmare, sorry, a dream that Stephanie Meyer (the author) had... Did she have to share it?! I struggle with the fact that it has been so largely manufactured and all these 'fangirls' on Team Edward or Jacob?! Has anyone got a bucket?

I found it interesting reading an article last night on the BBC website of people's comments that they'd sent in about World Book Day, and the positives and negatives about it... I used to love dressing up, and choosing a character to go in as for the day. It was great, and we got to read out some our favourite parts of the book, and share why we liked it so much. Now, the kids dress up as film characters, which ok, most would have originated from books, but they don't actually share why they dressed up as that character or anything?! I think it's a lack or imagination and struggle to imagine myself what we're going to end up doing in our spare times in say, 10 years time.

When we went on holiday, we used to take a book to read for the week (possibly two if we thought we'd get through it) and that's what we'd do in any spare time we had (or play monopoly/cards). I used to love reading Roald Dahl books and imagining and creating my own image with colours in my head of The BFG and all his dream concoctions and then imagining all the chocolates and sweets and all the vibrant colours from inside Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Laying down on the sofa and reading Enid Blyton books and wondering what the next adventure The Famous Five would go on.
Now, I find it hard to read most books from 'my section' of the shop, mainly because the story lines are so alike, so when something like The Hunger Games came up, I read all of them in 2 weeks, because they were so great, but it meant that I had nothing else to read for a while, apart from Jessie J and Cheryl's autobiography...
I still, sit down and get lost in the idea one day my letter from Hogwarts will come and I'll be able to sit OWLs rather than the GCSEs, A Levels and doing a degree to get where I want to in life.
I've been finding myself doing what I used to hate people doing, buying a book because of the film. e.g. Life of Pi. It seems to be the best way of finding decent books at the moment. I also found myself looking at the '9-12 years old' section of Waterstone's the other day and finding Stig of the Dump, which I'll be reading soon!

One last note to finish on: there's nothing better than the smell of a new book, there's nothing better than the feel of a book in your hand, with the pages rubbing against your thumbs, and there's definitely nothing better than sitting with a lamp on in bed reading a book. That quickly leads me on to say, I'm not a great fan of kindle's etc. because they're not the same as the real thing even if they do cut down the amount of books in your bedroom/ on your bookshelves.

and a Doctor Who quote to finish on: 'You want weapons? We're in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world!' - The Doctor. (3 weeks til it's back on my TV screen!!!!!)

What books do you enjoy? Do you find them through films? Do you prefer books/kindle?

Friday 8 March 2013

8th March 2013: finally friday.

I just risked my life for this photo. I stood on a swirly chair. Please bear in mind, I did a similar thing when I was younger, but I simply stood on my bed... and fell off (you could say I'm clumsy?)

Anyway... at last it's friday! Which is nice! It's the weekend again! For me, this week has been stupidly long and incredibly tiring. I'm getting fed up with coursework, which still seems to be looming over like dementors (from Harry Potter, I'm not completely mad!)
Still, I had PE and double English Language with two frees :) so I came home between break and lunch. Then I went to club and now I'm home, and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm asleep in half an hour. Will probably watch a film with my sister though, and no doubt fall asleep half way through, and leave her to turn off the DVD... no, I won't do that!!

It's funny, because I just started laughing at myself, because I seriously feel slightly crazy writing these, because I feel like I'm talking to myself, which wouldn't surprise me or anyone else, I'm sure...

Music suggestion: Things We Lost In The Fire - Bastille. I've literally not stopped listening to this since I got the album on Wednesday?! It's got insane vocals, dums and strings, literally best combo ever, blarghh it's just great :)

Oh, and I'm sorting out my 'super blog saturday' entry... that name's stuck i'm afraid :)

Thursday 7 March 2013

7th March 2013: rain again.

So today, I went in late. Sat in the usual year 7 english class, which is fun. Then I had PE, but we were doing practical, and seeing as I'm still not feeling great, I didn't have to join in, so I went and did some notes for my EPIP. Then, I had English Lit and we were doing a practice exam question, which is always that little bit more exciting when you've only got 13 lessons left. Sorry what?! How quickly has that gone?
Then I could have gone home, but I stayed in for a one to one with my new and fourth EPQ teacher... He was 15 minutes late, and so I decided to go back up to the common room, and didn't go back, and seeing as when I walked past his office to go home, 15 minutes later and he still wasn't there I was glad.
So I went home, took todays photo, sat and read and listened to music, ate dinner, then watched a bit of that Graham Norton programme for Red Nose Day, and got annoyed at Terry Wogan, so turned it off, played Mario Kart with my sister, then started to write this listening to a Saeglopur remix. Now I'm going to make a hot chocolate and watch The Hunger Games, for just over the 50th time.

Friday tomorrow!!!

Wednesday 6 March 2013

6th March 2013: wedsneezeday.

I was lacking inspiration for the title of my blog today. I sneezed and it's wednesday...

I didn't really do much today, I went back to sixth form though, still not feeling great, and when I came home in my frees I sat on the sofa not doing much :/ still, triple english is always a fun day when you're not feeling well...

I went in for 1st and 2nd, then came home and went in at lunch to go to town and pick up Bastille's album, which is pretty good... (that's what I'm listening to typing this...) and also got my Mum a mother's day present... Then went to 5th and came home. I then sorted out my ipod out, had a bath, and sorted out my iTunes a bit more, then I read Life of Pi... Yeah, I've picked it back up again, and hoping to finish it this time... Still, I should go and do a bit of PE work and then I'll be off to bed, because I'm rather tired.

Tuesday 5 March 2013

5th March 2013: but the world keeps spinning around.

Ok, so I spent my day in bed. I'm feeling a little bit better now, so I'm hoping to go back in tomorrow. Still, I didn't do much, I took a photo, and I plan on taking a lot better photos now, I'm going to be making sure I take one during the day and edit or upload it to the right place in time for a blog entry, rather than leaving it to the last minute like I have been recently, so I'm going to be changing that habit asap!
Also, listened to Fools on Greg James evening show on Radio 1 today, well done Lauren! On the topic of music, I'm updating my ipod with some 'older music' such as Fatboy Slim, Avril Lavigne and Adam Ant :)
Oh, and if you wanted to know, blog name for today comes from a song called High Hopes and the fact I've felt quite dizzy and faint for most of the day, I am feeling a lot better now though :)

I'm off to make a hot chocolate and maybe read a bit of a book...

Monday 4 March 2013

4th March 2013: odd socks, sleep and water.

Today I went in for one lesson, not feeling to great, and came home and slept for 5 hours.
Last night was good, I saw Girls Aloud, I don't know whether it was the poor build up before hand or whether it was because I wasn't feeling well, but I'm not sure I exactly enjoyed it, I mean don't get me wrong, I sang along and stuff, but I found it all a bit up and down.
Amelia Lily was ok live, and it was great to see Girls Aloud, but I found myself getting annoyed at Nadine most of the time, for taking a lot of the limelight, when they are a group?! I dunno?!
I enjoyed my Nando's though, and it wasn't like I didn't enjoy the evening.
Still, I guess it's a Monday and it's not the best day of the week.

Sunday 3 March 2013

3rd March 2013: jump for my love...

A day where we listened to old tunes, new tunes and i'm off to see girls aloud! So there we go!
Not much to say really apart from I've had an allergic reaction type thing to apple YAY! hence the photo of a bottle of water :) and I'm literally about to leave to go to London with Phil and Chloe to see Girls Aloud, i wonder how many times i can say girls aloud in this blog? im not taking my camera, so there wont be too many photos, but i'll sneak one on my phone :)

Saturday 2 March 2013

2nd March 2013: it's always the weekends…

So I said that I'd sorted my topic for 'Super Blog Saturday' which is what I've now formally called it… (it's not really) but anyway I had, honestly, but I didn't think it was going to make that good a blog… It was going to be about what David actually did to become a Saint, seeing as it was St.Davids Day but I'll be perfectly honest I'm not exactly in the writing mood, and after nearly crying in English yesterday because I just couldn't put anything together for my coursework, I'm blaming it on writers block, even if certain people believe there is no such thing, not feeling very well recently hasn't helped. Still, I was adamant I wanted to try and write a longer interesting blog entry today because I said i would and its a simple thing that I should be able to do. So, I'm sat typing this on my iPod listening to Sigur Ros and I'm just going to rant.

Last night, I did my usual volunteer work at club, and saw the Green Team, then I smartened up and went to do some waitressing . It went well and after a few trips over a coat that was hanging over the back of a chair we got all the food out with a few picky people and got all the plates back safely so that was good. Still, there was a famous person there, I won't name who because I don't think it would be fair me complaining about them, but he's classed as a comedian, actor and impressionist on Wikipedia, however he wasn't very funny when he offended people as jokes, and even if he didn't like us giving him the food he could have been a bit more grateful towards my friend who got a few rude comments off of him, with a bit of simple acting, after all he was in a well known soap. Unless he was trying to do an impression of Phil Mitchell? No, it wasn't Steve McFadden. Anyway, he had two 'females' with him and they refused their dessert which was a Belgian Waffle… well, if you know me, you know that one of my favourite puddings is a warm Belgian waffle with sauce and ice cream and that's exactly what they had so when the refused it because they 'wouldn't fit into the costumes' well I may have shot them a glare by accident but hey ho. Still, I struggle when there are people who are vaguely well known that are so stuck up and don't care about anyone around then and couldn't care less if you hurt someone's feelings or offend them in any way at all. I've had a few experiences with 'well known telly people' luckily for me most have been nice experiences but even so, I'll always remember being at a shopping centre quite local to me when I was about 6 or 7 and walking down the stairs and a woman who's known for being on Big Brother, presenting The Big Breakfast and her own show… still I was walking down these stairs and she literally shoved past me and commented on how kids always get on the way. I'm pretty sure I've always been conscious about being in people's way since. Then there's other people who will say hi in the high street when I see them and smile back, (one of my favourite doctor who companions ever and the only one I cried at when she left.) Also, many footballers and cricketers I've met have been alright and surprisingly for Katy Perry fans when I met Russell Brand he was nice too, then we go back up to the stuck up ones and I could mention a certain Olympian, I haven't met him and I hope never to me him, but I will never understand why and how people and particularly famous people let fame go to their head? I understand that they live different lives to us, which is another thing that annoys me about them, however I find it frustrating that they have to have security an stuff around in case people mob them. Have you had any meetings with well known people? Have they ever annoyed you or actually been nice?

Hope that was ok? Hah

Friday 1 March 2013

1st March 2013: tired and cold.

Today's photo is my dinner, because I didn't have time to type out a blog entry earlier at school, don't particularly have time to do much now, as I'm due to be going out in 15 minutes, and I'm not coming back til late...
I'm tired and I'm fed up of this cold weather and wish the summer would come already.
I had two frees this morning, which I spent catching up with a bit of work and sorting EPQ out.. Then I had psychology, PE and English Lang, which was a frustrating lesson...
I'm off to see my Green team tonight, and then doing a bit of waitressing, and I've chosen tomorrow's topic...
It relates more to today, and is factual and full of knowledge... :)
