21st April 2013: summer, shorts and stuff.

Monday 15th April: last day of being remotely sane for a while.
Tuesday 16th April: back to sixth form and tired.
Wenesday 17th April: a walk along the river.
Thursday 18th April: i like rainbows.
Friday 19th April: 'i feel sorry for sausage dogs'
Saturday 20th April: 'not everything ends'
Sunday 21st April: summer, shorts and stuff.

So, I don't have a clue why I called each entry what I did, but hey ho! I went back to sixth form this week, had a limited amount of lessons due to certain teachers being off, had a 'challenging' lesson with the Year 7s, and some confusing lessons for me, especially in PE...
Started mind mapping my notes for revision, and also starting to get slightly apprehensive about my upcoming exams... considering they're around 3 weeks away.

Didn't really do much during the week, but this weekend I've been shopping and got some t-shirts and 3/4 length stuff for the summer and probable things to take to Kenya, actually went out in shorts and a t-shirt yesterday because the weather was so nice. Although, I ended up putting a hoody on shortly after cos my arms got too cold :(

Started thinking about the final two fundraising events I'm hoping to sort out with few others for our trip to Kenya. It's scary to think it's just over 2 months til all our money has to be paid in, then the crazy summer of sorting everything else out! I keep having moments where I think how insane it's going to be out there, and how stunning the sunsets and stars are going to be, then how we're gonna be helping kids and communities out there and seeing different lifestyles and yeah I could go on...

I also finished the book 'Wonder' by R.J.Palacio, it's a really well written book, I read it in about 2 days, obviously with time in between for work, but it's a page-turner. On the front is a precept (word I learnt from the book) which says 'you can't blend in when you were born to stand out.' Definitely a good read, no matter what age, except maybe not like junior school age?!

I haven't spent as much time as I usually do listening to music this week, but I've been listening to some 'classics' this week, so two of the following are just summer sing a long feel good songs and the other is from a guy I saw support Gabrielle Aplin a month ago (which is crazy).

Place Your Hands - Reef: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bihoNRc8GDQ

Sweet Disposition - Temper Trap: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C8e7nNLZNs

This Year - Andreas Moe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vfbcsj_bUk

Twitter of the Week: BBC One favourited one of my tweets :) Jess Revell who plays Elektra in Tracy Beaker Returns & Dumping Ground followed me, and Lem Knights (the guy with the fro on Team Jessie on the Voice) followed me too :)

Quote of the Week: 'everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their life'. - August Pullman, a fictional character.

Highlights of the Week: Hunger Games: Catching Fire trailer was released!! It's looking soooo good!! Also, Doctor Who, was actually pretty good this week, I thought the classic ghost story was pretty nice but the twists in it were good too, first one I've properly enjoyed and found a bit creepy this series, The Voice was ok this week, I sort of get bored with the auditions process so hopefully when the battle rounds come round it'll pick up a bit.

There we go for another week :)

Thank youu

9th February 2013: hash browns, bed and videos.

Today's photo represents the amount of time I've spent in bed the past 24 hours... No, I don't always make my bed, because what's the point if you're going to get back in it... Yes, that's my pyjama bottoms and yes there is a weird duck teddy thing, that's my most important possesion, I still can't get to sleep without him, despite being 16... But don't tell anyone, that's a secret :P
Today, I woke up at around 8am... I got up at around 10am... Went out for a cooked breakfast at about 11am... I went to pick up some glue rollers for cards, and whilst I was at it, picked up one of my favourite books, Stig of the Dump. I enjoyed my cooked breakfast, fried egg, hash brown, toast, beans, bacon and sausages (which probably contained horse meat). I came home, laid on my bed for a bit listening to music, then went on the computer to make my fundraising evening video from two weeks ago... Which I did!!
Now I'm sat listening to my old Westlife CD that I found :D
I'm tired and feeling like I'm coming down with something, probably a cold, or sinuses playing up, yet again! Wrote a bit more of my English article :) Talking of articles, I'm fed up of seeing the subject of horse meat all over the papers, I'm sorry, but everyday it seems there has been tests on different stores, companies etc.I can understand a massive outrage because of false advertising as it's been missold in many cases as beef, for example Findus Lasganas... Also, my Mum came up with a good point of where are horse farms for meat? I don't think I've heard of a horse farm in England that has horses to sell meat, so where's it coming from? However, those people that are outraged at eating horse, are being a bit silly... The French see it as a delicasy, yeah, I know they eat frogs legs and snails, they don't sound nice but frogs legs are pretty nice, I can't say the same about snails though... But it's meat, it's edible... Shush.

Anyways, a treat for you today! A video alongside a photo and slightly longer blog entry than in recent weeks... Enjoy!

27th January 2013: thank you and goodnight.

Last night was crazy!! The prep went really well and the hall looked amazing when we'd set it up. We were going fine until people started to turn up, and one of the waitresses decided to tip a few champagne glasses over... No names being mentioned, and surprisingly it wasn't me... So whilst we  were cleaning up that, a certain person then decided to spill the bucket of water, at the entrance, so we cleared that up, and we were off!!
The starter was  salmon on rocket with buttered brown bread and a slice of lemon. The vegetarian option was  mushroom pate with rocket and brown bread too. We then did a entry ticket draw, with the prize being Thornton's chocolates. Onto the main, the kitchen was 'heated' to say the least... Beef Bourguinonne with mash, beans, broccoli and carrots, and for the vegetarian option, a roast pepper cheesecake with the same veg. The guests then played heads and tails, winning after eights.Whilst this was happening, we were prepping the dessert, I thought it would be a great idea to turn the whisk on and whipped  cream went everywhere... The dessert was lemon tart, fruit compote and whipped cream. Skylarks then did a half  hour set, which was great! Me and 2 others then went up the front and got asked questions and we then had to answer them... Skylarks then did a second set, with some great covers, including Pencil Full of Lead. They then sang Happy Birthday, for one of the guests and then the goodbye's. Full of compliments, and lovely comments :D Then the tidying began... The guests left at around 10.45 and I got home at 1.45ish considering the venue's only 10 minutes away... Yes, we were that for that long!!
Today I was in bed until 12.15, I  was tired, and coudn't move my legs. I had leftover pizza for lunch, and didn't do much for the rest of the ay, I went with my Mum to drop some things back to my grandparents house from last night, we drove past the cemetry near their house and I saw the sunset, and I decided it was the perfect photo for today, pretty chill and a beautiful view, yeah it sounds cheesy, but today has been chill and all I've had is more compliments about last night, and a great sense of achievement. Obviously I wouldn't have been able to have done it all on my own, so thank you to my family, Phil, Sue, Debs, Skylarks, Lailana, Rosie, Hannah and Sophie, and of course everyone for coming!
I want to give Skylarks another shoutout! Go like their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/#!/skylarksmusic and get a feel of their music on Soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/skylarks
Thank you and goodnight!
